Ceiling Fan Installation
24/7 Electrical Services and Repairs provides expert ceiling fan installation across McLoud, OK, mounting your fan on a properly rated box with safe wiring so it runs quiet, stays balanced, and cools your home efficiently.
Professional Ceiling Fan Installation in McLoud, OK
A ceiling fan adds comfort and lowers energy bills, but only when it is installed correctly from the box up. The most important part of the job hides above the ceiling, where the electrical box has to be rated to carry a moving load. A standard fixture box can hold a light, yet it was never built to support the weight and motion of a spinning fan. At 24/7 Electrical Services and Repairs, we install fan rated boxes anchored to the framing so your fan stays secure for years. We measure for proper blade clearance and the right downrod length, especially on tall or vaulted ceilings. Our electricians wire the fan to match your switching, giving you separate control of the fan and the light when you want it. We balance every fan we hang, because a wobble usually points to mounting rather than the motor. Quiet operation is the goal, so we torque each connection and tuck the wiring neatly inside the canopy. We handle remotes, smart controls, and wall switches, matching the control to your fan and your wiring. Every install is left clean, level, and tested across all speeds. You get honest pricing and licensed workmanship on each job. That is the standard our McLoud neighbors count on.
I had a very positive experience with 24/7 Electrical Services. Jonathan was professional, knowledgeable, and instrumental in helpings figure out the most cost effective way to get our greenhouse wired from our house. He communicated with us very well and got estimates to us quickly. He made extra efforts to find a solution for us. The electricians were polite, friendly and showed up on time. They got the job done in a timely manner. I would definitely use 24/7 again and would highly recommend them.
Very pleased with company! Brian Fritz on 2 separate visits removed old fan and installed a new living room ceiling fan and kitchen ceiling light fixture along with new switches. Punctual, pleasant and professional with over 20 years experience.
24/7 was recommended. I feel I could not have made a better choice for the repairs needed. Brian came out, was super nice, very professional, straight forward, and told me exactly what needed to be done. I accepted the quote, and within minutes, he called me back, set up an appointment. he showed up early, and finished the repairs in less time than quoted. small businesses like 24/7 deserve more from our community. if your thinking about 24/7, just do it, you won't regret it
These guys are great I highly recommend them, there a family owned business, there on time easy to get ahold of them, and they do excellent work.

A polite and friendly young man, Brian fixed my electrical problem very quickly. From now on I will use this company for all of my electrical needs
Very pleased with this company. Called and requested a quote on work. They came within a week and 3 weeks later( due to my schedule restraints) they were able to complete the work. They provided a great quote and spelled out exactly what they were going to doing and cost. They completed it in 1 1/2 hours. Very professional and courteous. Will gladly do business with this company in the future.
Thank you so much 24/7 electrical, Johnathan and his aprentice did an amazing job. We did not realize how bad we needed an upgrade. Everything has been working so much better. Very friendly, respectful and professional.
24/7 Electrical was a pleasure to work with from the initial phone call. They were pleasant, helpful, quick to respond, thorough in explanation, fair in cost, and did great work. They will certainly get my business going forward.
Had a short time window to work with and had multiple issues needing fixed from GFI replacement, dimmer switch, faulty light switches and wiring new cooktop and double oven. Showed up on time, was fast efficient and friendly. Prices were very reasonable.
I had a different electrician come replace a breaker panel for me and he was in the attic at one point. He told me there were all kinds of repairs needing done and quoted me a little over $1800 to fix it. I called 24/7 electric out for a second opinion and their guy told me nothing up there was an emergency and the minor things he noticed were easy fixes that I could do myself- like putting connectors on and a box over some spliced and capped wires. He took pictures so he could explain what he saw. I know who to call now for honesty! Thank you 24/7 for saving me a big nonessential expense!!
It was a great feeling to get a quote then have 24/7 electrical services Be able to meet our needs within three days. Thank you Brian and team for helping us get a new electoral box and service very quickly.
Jonathan and his team arrived on time, quickly was able to troubleshoot and do the repair, was professional, cleaned up after themselves and was reasonable. Highly recommend!!
I did not realize that they were based in McLoud, but they didn't bat an eye about coming to Edmond to give me a free estimate and then followed with the actual install a few days later. The electricians were well groomed and had on identifying shirts & hats. They were professional, efficient & thorough and left the area clean and orderly. I also needed a new switch which he had on the truck and so they installed that too, as well as the two expected light fixtures. I am thrilled with their service and the price was reasonable.
They showed up on time, immediately got to work, explained everything they were doing and the game plan going forward and how they were troubleshooting the issue. Found and fixed the problem within an hour. Prices are fair as well! Highly recommend them for all your electrical services.
Jonathan was able to begin and finish work quickly and professionally. We would recommend 24/7 Electrical for one’s Electrical services needs!
Johnathan & crew were there earlier than we expected. They did a great job and I have no problem recommending them. They electrified our new sunroom and installed a ceiling fan and outdoor security light. Looking forward to using them again, if needed!
Jonathan and his crew replaced the whole house fuse panel, they explained everything from start to finish. All my concerns were answered during the entire process. We needed an electrical lamp light post installed but they first had to remove the very old non working gas light, it required digging under a concrete drive and moving river rock out of the way. They also had to change the outside lights. They did all of that in a timely manner. They were very neat putting all the grass back cleaning up the walkways. They were friendly and highly competent. I will use them again.
Jonathan and company was super nice. Showed up on time and helped us with a brand new breaker box so that we have power throughout the home. Thank you for also removing old ceiling fan and putting up new fan. Looks great. Thank you.

Called and Johnathon came out to review and quote. Never received quote and sent follow up text and no other action was taken on this companies part. Looking to remodel kitchen and trying to tackle couple issues so the house brought up to code. Disappointed. Try somewhere else.
Always there when you need them they get the job done very professional I have used them several times and wouldn’t use anyone else’s.
The 2 gentlemen showed up on time, very professional, (mother taught them great manners. Always yes ma'am or no ma'am.) Did excellent work. Everything looked great. My late husband would have been proud. As he was a master electrician 45yrs. Thank you again for your outstanding job. Michelle Inman

He was very polite got my kitchen vent hood put in fast it looks great an works fine
The guys did excellent work very respectable. I will definitely call them in the future.
Scheduled an estimate call to have a Transfer Box installed for a generator when my power goes out. The technician suggested a better way of doing it that would cost me less money (saving money is up my alley). The appointment was scheduled 3 days out, and when the date came, he was early. The job was completed in a timely manner, and the price was very reasonable. It's nice to know that you are not being taken advantage of to make extra money. Outstanding work, and now I'm ready for those power outages, and it didn't hurt my pocket. Thanks Guy's!!!
Prompt response - called ahead of arrival. Electrician Jonathan did a great job - very polite. He did over and beyond what was requested. Quickly replied with additional quotes I requested.

These are a rare breed in today's day and time. I am a senior citizen age 67 on a fixed income and 100% disabled. I own my home outright and I've put a new roof on it but the storm tore my roof and my pipes completely off by my 50-year-old pecan trees. The water shot through my Hunter ceiling fans and broke them and broke several of my electrical pieces in my home the water damage was very extensive. I was very fortunate as statewide roofing helps me get my home back together again. And now 24/7 came out installed my doorbell fixed my fan to where they had to just take it down and put a new light up so that it would not be dangerous. Not only that they actually put a temporary light up until they could get me one with a cord on it and they didn't have to do that. They also replaced every bulb in my home because I am handicapped and cannot do so. He fixed everything he could possibly fix. The owner took special attention to a little old lady like me and helped me God bless these people they will help you too once a year they help us please take advantage and call them before it would be too late it's every August I believe. what is so awesome about that is they wait until the end of the season to see how much damage has been done to the seniors and they actually help us out with no charge. Gather some things they cannot fix like I need a whole new electrical box and they can't do that but they can help me keep my lights on and keep me safe. And keep me to where I can live in my home and die in it I don't have but maybe 10 years left and I thank them that I don't have to worry those last 10 years. I pray I have longer but we're realistic 67 maybe? Just trying to live in my family home that I've been in since I was a baby and 24/7 electricity has helped me and I'm sure so many other seniors there's no other company like this in Oklahoma City and a lot of people can take heed from these folks. I've asked habitat for humanity I've asked all kinds of help and statewide roofing and 24/7 electric are the only two that would help me as a senior. You guys again I cannot tell you enough how much you have made my life a better place thank you God bless.....
This is my new go-to electrical service company. My dryer wouldn't power on. The dryer repairman said it was a breaker box problem and I would need an electrician to fix it. I called 24/7, and they sent Brian out right away. He confirmed that my breaker box was fine, and even agreed to talk to the dryer repairman. My dryer is now working properly. Since he was at my house any way, I asked Brian to repair a couple of light switches and install a new outlet. He did the job well and quickly, and cleaned up after himself. I was impressed with the responsiveness of the company, and with Brian's efficiency. I'll definitely use 24/7 again.
Best prices around. Was able to get a technician out within a hour of calling. The technician was very thorough and respectful. Would recommend these guys 100%.
I am a contractor in Oklahoma city, as busy as we are I forgot I had a electric mast repair on insurance scope to be repaired. I was reviewing scope the day before and saw the repair in estimate so I called these guys and they has a guy there the following morning as we started roof. The guys took care of the repair in an hour or so and did a great job. The price was a lot less then I was expecting and I could not be happier with my experience with these guys. I will definitely use then again.. TOP NOTCH..

I talked with these people and they agreed to go inspect a house for electrical issues after a fire and provide a bid to repair/replace. That was two weeks ago, and I'm still waiting to hear back from someone
Called on Sunday and was offered a time for same-day service or another day the upcoming week that fit our schedule. An electrician texted us an hour before he came out and was on-time to appointment. He was kind, easy to understand, and quickly finished our job in just about 30 minutes. He even was able to give us some advice about other electrical questions we had but did not need fixed during this appointment. Will use again if needed!
The serviceman was extremely pleasant, and very efficient at his job. He took the time to explain to me why my GFI outlet went bad. Then he offered to fix it... as well as put a new separate wall plug in for my refrigerator, so it wouldn't happen again! ( even though it was 8pm at night ) I was very pleased with the service, so I've put their number in my phone, for the next time I need an electrician. Margaret

Ceiling Fan Installation in McLoud, OK
Ceiling fan installation looks simple from the ground, yet a safe and quiet fan depends on details most people never see. The first of those details is the box in the ceiling, because a standard light fixture box is not rated to hold a moving fan. A fan creates constant motion and weight that a thin pancake box was never designed to support over time. We install a fan rated box, often a brace box that spans between the joists and carries the full load. That single upgrade prevents the wobble, the rattle, and the worst case scenario of a fan pulling loose from the ceiling and crashing into the room below. From there, the wiring has to match the fan you chose and the way you want to control it. A fan with a light kit may need a separate switch leg so you can run the fan and the light independently. We plan the switching before we cut anything, because adding a control later is far harder than wiring it correctly now. Proper support and proper wiring are the two pillars of an install that lasts for years. We handle both with the care your home deserves.
Mounting height and blade clearance shape how well a ceiling fan performs and how safe it is to live with. The code calls for at least seven feet of clearance from the floor to the bottom of the blades. It also requires the blades to stay a safe distance from walls and any nearby obstruction. On tall or vaulted ceilings, a downrod brings the fan to the right height for proper air movement. A fan mounted too close to the ceiling moves far less air, because it cannot pull a strong column down into the room. We measure your ceiling height and recommend the correct downrod length for both strong performance and a clean appearance. Sloped ceilings often need a special adapter so the fan hangs level instead of at an angle. Outdoor and covered patio locations require a fan rated for damp or wet conditions, which is a detail people often overlook. Choosing the right fan for the right spot is part of the service we provide. We help you get it right before the box is even opened.
Balance and quiet operation separate a good installation from a frustrating one. A fan that wobbles is rarely the fault of the motor; it usually traces back to mounting, blade alignment, or a poor connection. We make sure every blade is seated correctly, every screw is snug, and the canopy sits flush against the ceiling surface. A balancing kit fine tunes any slight wobble that remains after assembly, adding small weights to the blades until the fan spins true. Loose blade screws are a leading cause of the clicking and humming that drives homeowners crazy over time. We torque the fan to the box and the box to the framing so nothing works itself loose. Electrical connections inside the canopy are made with the correct connectors and tucked neatly so the canopy closes cleanly. A rattling fan often means a wire is pinched or a connection was rushed. We take the extra minutes that prevent those callbacks. The reward is a fan that runs smooth and stays quiet for years.
Controls give a ceiling fan its real convenience, and there are more options today than ever before. A basic fan can run from a single wall switch, but most homeowners want separate control of the fan speed and the light. A dual switch, a fan and light combination control, or a remote each accomplish that in a different way. Modern fans frequently include a remote receiver that tucks into the canopy and responds to a handheld or wall mounted control. Smart fans can connect to your phone or a voice assistant, letting you adjust speed and lighting without leaving the couch. We match the control to the fan and to the wiring already in your wall. Some older homes only have a single switched conductor, which limits the options until we run an additional wire. We explain the choices clearly, with the cost and the benefit of each, so you can pick the setup that fits how you live. Getting the controls right makes a fan feel effortless every day. We wire them so they simply work.
Replacing an old ceiling fan carries its own set of considerations that a fresh install does not. The existing box may not be fan rated, even though it has held a fan for years, which is a common surprise. We inspect that box and the framing above it before we trust it with a new fan. Old wiring can be brittle, undersized, or improperly connected, and we correct any problems we find. The previous installer may have skipped the balance step, leaving a wobble you assumed was normal. We remove the old unit, evaluate the support above the box, and bring everything up to current code standards. A heavier new fan may demand a stronger box than the one already in place. We never assume the existing setup is adequate just because it survived this long. Each replacement gets the same scrutiny as a brand new circuit. That diligence is what keeps the new fan safe and steady overhead for years to come.
Energy savings and comfort are real benefits of a properly installed ceiling fan, and they are worth understanding. A fan does not lower the temperature; it moves air across your skin so you feel cooler at a higher thermostat setting. That wind chill effect lets many homeowners raise the thermostat several degrees in summer without losing comfort. In winter, reversing the fan to run clockwise on low pushes warm air down from the ceiling. That simple switch can take the chill out of a room and ease the load on your heating system. A fan in the right spot circulates air that would otherwise sit stagnant in corners. We help you place fans where they deliver the most comfort for the least energy, room by room throughout the home. Pairing fans with smart controls makes those savings even easier to capture. Comfort and efficiency do not have to compete. The right fan, installed correctly, delivers both at once.

Why Electrical Code Matters for Ceiling Fan Installation
Electrical code matters for ceiling fan installation because a fan is a moving load suspended over the people below it. The National Electrical Code requires that fans be supported by an outlet box listed and marked for fan support. A standard fixture box can fail under the constant vibration of a spinning fan, which is why the code draws that hard line. The code also sets the box weight rating, commonly up to thirty five pounds, with heavier fans requiring additional support. Proper grounding is required so the metal parts of the fan never become energized during a fault. Clearance rules keep the blades a safe distance from the floor and from walls to prevent contact injuries. Damp and wet location ratings exist so outdoor fans resist moisture that would destroy an indoor unit. Code compliant wiring connections inside the canopy prevent the loose joints that cause arcing and heat. When these rules are ignored, the result can be a fallen fan, an electrical shock, or a fire. Inspectors check this work because a fan over a bed or a kitchen table leaves no room for error. Following the code is how we guarantee the fan stays safely where we put it. That is a standard we never compromise.
Most Common Ceiling Fan Installation Questions
Ceiling fan installation brings up plenty of practical questions, from box ratings to wobble to control options. We have answered the ones our McLoud customers ask most so you know what to expect before we arrive.
Replacing a light fixture with a ceiling fan is a popular upgrade, but it is rarely as simple as a direct swap. The biggest issue is the electrical box, because a box that held a light is almost never rated to support a fan. A light fixture is a static load, while a fan adds weight plus the constant motion of spinning blades. That motion will eventually work a standard box loose, which is exactly the failure the code is written to prevent. We replace the existing box with a fan rated box anchored firmly to the framing above the ceiling. In many homes that means installing a brace bar that spans between the joists and carries the full weight. Only after the support is solid do we move on to the wiring and the fan itself. Skipping the box upgrade is the single most common mistake we see on do it yourself fan installs.
The wiring is the second consideration when converting a light location to a fan. A single light is usually controlled by one switch, but most people want separate control of the fan and its light. If only one switched wire runs to the box, you are limited to a remote or a combination control until another conductor is added. We look at what is in the wall and explain the options before any work begins. Adding a wire inside a finished wall is possible, though it takes more labor than wiring it during construction. A remote receiver tucked into the canopy is often the cleanest solution when running new wire is impractical. We make sure the controls match the way you actually want to use the fan. Planning this up front avoids the disappointment of a fan that only runs one way.
The good news is that this conversion is routine work for our electricians. We bring the fan rated boxes, the brace bars, and the control options to handle nearly any situation. We check the framing, confirm the support, and verify the wiring before the new fan goes up. The whole job usually takes a fraction of the time people expect when it is done by a pro. You end up with a fan that is safe, level, and quiet rather than one that wobbles and worries you. Our pricing is upfront, and we provide a free local estimate before we start. We leave the room clean and test every speed and the light before we call it finished. When you are ready to turn that light into a fan, we make it easy.
A wobbling ceiling fan is one of the most common complaints we hear, and the cause is almost never the motor. The most frequent culprit is the mounting, specifically a box that is not securely fastened or not rated for a fan. When the box flexes even slightly, that movement is amplified into a visible wobble at the blade tips. Loose mounting screws between the fan and the box produce the same effect. Another common cause is blade imbalance, where the blades are not all weighted or aligned the same. Warped blades, often from humidity, throw off the balance and create a persistent wobble. A bent blade iron, the bracket that holds each blade, can also tilt one blade out of plane. Identifying the real cause is the first step, and we check each possibility in order.
Fixing a wobble starts with confirming the fan is mounted on a proper fan rated box that is tight to the framing. We tighten every connection from the box to the bracket to the blades, since a single loose screw can cause the whole fan to shake. We then check that each blade sits at the same angle and the same distance from the ceiling. A simple measurement from the ceiling to each blade tip reveals a blade that hangs lower than the rest. Swapping the position of two blades sometimes corrects an imbalance caused by slight weight differences. When the mechanical checks are complete, a balancing kit fine tunes the rest. The kit uses small clip on and stick on weights to settle the spin until it runs smooth. Patience during this step is what produces a fan that runs without a flicker of movement.
A wobble is more than an annoyance, because over time it loosens connections and stresses the mount. Ignoring it allows screws to back out and the box to fatigue, which is how a fan eventually falls. That risk is exactly why we never treat a wobble as cosmetic. If your fan has shaken since the day it was installed, the original install likely skipped the balancing step or used the wrong box. We are happy to inspect an existing fan, find the cause, and correct it properly. In some cases the fix is quick, while in others the box needs replacing for safety. We explain what we find and give you an honest price before we proceed. A fan should run smooth and quiet, and we make sure yours does.
Outdoor and covered patio spaces absolutely require a fan rated for the conditions, and using an indoor fan there is a mistake. Fans carry a location rating of dry, damp, or wet, and each one matches a different environment. A dry rated fan is built only for fully enclosed indoor rooms with no moisture exposure. A damp rated fan tolerates humidity and is suitable for covered porches and patios protected from direct rain. A wet rated fan is sealed to handle direct exposure to rain and is the choice for open or exposed locations. Installing an indoor fan outside leads to rust, motor failure, and a real electrical hazard. The materials and the sealed motor in an outdoor rated fan are what let it survive the elements. Matching the rating to the location is the foundation of a safe outdoor install.
Beyond the rating, an outdoor fan installation has wiring requirements that an indoor one does not. The wiring and connections must be protected from moisture, which means weatherproof boxes and proper sealing. The circuit feeding an outdoor fan often needs to be on a GFCI protected circuit for safety. We make sure the box is rated for both the fan weight and the location, since outdoor boxes face different stresses. Grounding is just as critical outdoors, because moisture raises the risk if a fault ever energizes the housing. We seal every entry point so water cannot reach the connections inside. Mounting height and clearance still apply, and we account for the slope of a porch ceiling when present. These are the details that keep an outdoor fan running for years instead of months.
Choosing the right outdoor fan also improves your comfort and the look of your space. A properly rated patio fan keeps insects away and moves the still summer air that makes a porch feel stuffy. Larger blades and weather resistant finishes are designed for the demands of an outdoor setting. We help you select a fan that fits the size of your space and the exposure it faces. The wrong fan in an exposed spot will disappoint you quickly, no matter how good it looks at first. We handle the rating, the wiring, and the mounting so the install holds up to Oklahoma weather. Our team provides a free local estimate and honest pricing before any work begins. When you want your porch or patio to feel cooler, we install the fan that belongs there.
Ceiling fan height directly affects how much air the fan moves and how safe it is in the room. The electrical code sets a minimum of seven feet from the floor to the bottom of the blades. That clearance keeps the blades safely above the reach of people moving through the room. For the best airflow, most fans perform well when the blades sit eight to nine feet above the floor. A fan mounted too high against the ceiling cannot pull a strong column of air down into the living space. A fan hung too low wastes its potential and can feel intrusive in the room. Balancing safety and performance is what determines the ideal height for your specific ceiling. We measure your room and recommend the mounting that fits both the code and the comfort you want.
Ceiling height is what drives the choice of mount and downrod. On a standard eight foot ceiling, a low profile or hugger fan keeps the blades at a safe height without a downrod. On nine foot and taller ceilings, a downrod lowers the fan to the optimal range for airflow. Downrods come in many lengths, and choosing the right one is a simple calculation based on your ceiling height. A vaulted or cathedral ceiling almost always needs a longer downrod and sometimes a sloped ceiling adapter. We carry the range of downrods and adapters needed to hang a fan correctly in any room. Getting this measurement right is the difference between a fan that cools and one that just spins. We take the time to size it properly rather than guess.
The shape and use of the room also factor into the final height decision. A bedroom fan over a bed has different clearance concerns than a fan in an open living room. Sloped ceilings require an adapter so the fan hangs level and the motor operates the way it was designed to. We always confirm the blades clear any nearby walls, beams, or light fixtures. A fan that is too close to a wall loses efficiency and can clatter against an obstruction. Our electricians evaluate the whole space before settling on a height and a mount. We explain the reasoning so you understand why a particular setup is best for your room. When the fan is hung at the right height, it cools better, looks better, and stays safe.
Many homeowners ask if they can install a ceiling fan on their own, and the honest answer depends on the situation. Swapping a fan onto an existing fan rated box with matching wiring is within reach for a careful and experienced person. The trouble is that most installs are not that simple once you open up the ceiling. The box is the first hurdle, since a light fixture box cannot safely support a fan and must be replaced. Working overhead with a heavy fan while making electrical connections is awkward and tiring even for professionals. A mistake in the wiring can leave the fan running backward, controlling the light incorrectly, or worse. Balancing the fan to eliminate wobble takes patience and the right technique. These are the points where a do it yourself project often turns into a service call.
Safety is the larger reason we recommend a licensed electrician for most fan installations. You are working with live wiring above your head, often on a ladder, which raises the stakes of any error. A fan that is not securely mounted can fall, and a fan over a bed or table is a real hazard if it does. Improper grounding or a loose connection can lead to shock or arcing inside the canopy. The code requirements for box rating, support, and clearance exist precisely because of these dangers. A professional knows how to install the brace box, route the wiring, and confirm the support is solid. We also spot problems with old wiring that a homeowner would never notice. Those protections are exactly what you pay for when you hire a licensed pro.
If you do choose to tackle a simple swap yourself, a few precautions make a real difference. Always turn off the breaker and verify the power is dead with a tester before touching any wire. Confirm the existing box is genuinely fan rated rather than assuming it is. Never hang a fan from a standard fixture box, no matter how tempting the shortcut seems. Have a helper support the fan while you make the connections, since doing it alone invites mistakes. When anything looks off, like aluminum wiring or a crowded box, stop and call a professional. We are glad to finish a job that turned out trickier than expected. For a clean, safe, and balanced install with a warranty behind it, our McLoud electricians are a phone call away.
The cost of installing a ceiling fan depends on several factors, and an honest estimate accounts for all of them. A straightforward swap onto an existing fan rated box costs less than a brand new installation in a fresh location. Running new wiring, adding a switch, or installing a box where none exists all add labor to the job. Tall or vaulted ceilings require more equipment and time, which affects the price. The type of control you want, from a simple switch to a smart remote, also plays a role. The fan itself is a separate cost that varies widely based on size, features, and quality. We separate the labor from the materials so you see exactly what you are paying for. A free local estimate is the best way to get a number that fits your specific project.
We believe in upfront, honest pricing with no surprises added at the end of the job. Before any work starts, we walk you through the scope and explain what drives the cost. If your situation calls for a new box, a brace bar, or additional wiring, we tell you why and what it adds. You will never get hit with a charge you did not approve in advance. That transparency is part of being a locally owned and family operated company that depends on its reputation. We would rather quote it right than win a job with a lowball number and pad it later. Our estimates are detailed enough that you can compare them with confidence. Knowing the full price before we begin lets you make a comfortable decision.
There is also real value in what a professional install includes beyond the labor itself. You get a fan mounted on a properly rated box, wired to code, and balanced to run quiet. You get the assurance that the support overhead is solid and safe for the people below. Our work is backed by a one year labor warranty, which a do it yourself install can never offer. We handle the cleanup and test every function before we consider the job done. The cost reflects safety, durability, and the peace of mind that comes with licensed work. A cheap install that wobbles or fails costs more in the long run than doing it right the first time. When you want a fair price and quality work, we are ready to provide both.
We install fans with remotes, smart controls, and every common switching setup, and we match the control to your needs. A remote control is one of the most popular options, especially for fans in bedrooms and high ceilings. The remote works through a small receiver that tucks into the fan canopy and responds to a handheld or wall unit. This setup lets you control fan speed and the light without a second wire running to the wall. Smart fans take it a step further by connecting to your home network and your phone. With a smart control, you can adjust the fan from an app or by voice through an assistant. Some smart fans even respond to room temperature and run on a schedule you set. We help you choose the control that fits how you live in the space.
Installing these controls correctly takes more than dropping in a receiver and walking away. We confirm the fan and the control are compatible, since not every receiver works with every fan. We check the wiring in the wall to see what kind of control the existing circuit can support. A fan with a light often benefits from a control that dims the light and varies the fan speed separately. We program remotes and pair smart fans to your network so they work the day we leave. For smart setups, we make sure the connection is stable and the app responds reliably. We also show you how to use the control so there is no guesswork afterward. A control that is set up right makes the fan feel effortless every single day.
There are a few wiring realities worth understanding when you want advanced controls. A fan with separate fan and light control ideally has two switched wires running to the box. When only one switched wire exists, a remote or a combination control becomes the practical solution. We explain these options clearly so your expectations match what the wiring allows. Running an additional wire is possible in many homes if you prefer wall switches over a remote. We lay out the cost and effort of each path before you decide. Whichever route fits your home, we wire it so the controls are intuitive and dependable. When you want modern control over your fan, we install the setup that makes it simple.
Ceiling fans are among the most efficient comfort devices in your home, and they use very little electricity. A typical fan draws somewhere between fifteen and ninety watts depending on its size and speed. To put that in perspective, running a fan on high often costs only pennies a day. Compare that to a central air conditioner, which can pull several thousand watts while it runs. The fan does not cool the air; it moves it across your skin so you feel cooler at a higher thermostat setting. That small wattage is what makes a fan such a smart partner to your cooling system. Even running several fans through the day adds little to your power bill. The efficiency is exactly why fans pay for themselves over a season.
The real savings come from how a fan lets you adjust the thermostat. Because moving air makes a room feel several degrees cooler, many homeowners raise the thermostat in summer without losing comfort. Each degree you raise the setting reduces the runtime of your air conditioner, which is where the expense lives. A fan running a few cents of power can offset dollars of air conditioning use over the same hours. The key is to run the fan only in rooms where people are present, since a fan cools people and not the air itself. Turning fans off in empty rooms keeps the savings real rather than wasted. Pairing fans with smart controls makes that habit automatic. Used this way, a fan is one of the cheapest comfort upgrades available.
The efficiency of a fan also depends on the motor and the quality of the install. Modern fans with DC motors use noticeably less power than older models while moving the same amount of air. A properly balanced and correctly mounted fan runs smoother and draws steady current rather than straining. A wobbling or poorly wired fan can run rough and wear its motor over time. Choosing the right size fan for the room means you get the airflow you need at a lower speed and less power. We help you select an efficient fan and install it so it performs at its best. The result is comfort that barely registers on your electric bill. When efficiency matters to you, the right fan installed correctly delivers it.
